Members of our
school council were invited to take a learning walk around Westover
Green Primary School on Tuesday 16th January. This was a wonderful experience
and chance for our children to discover the similarities and differences
between our small rural school and a large urban school. The children
were shown around by members of the Westover School Council, while Head
Teacher Mr Owen James showed Stogursey Head Teacher, Mrs Jan Bonus and
Senior Teacher, Mrs Shaun Bredavs around.
The Westover children
will be coming to do a similar walk at our school on Thursday 25th January.
Both groups of children will then make a joint presentation at the next
meeting of the joint school councils of Bridgwater, (this group is known
as Chatterbox), at the beginning of next month.
Our visit to Westover
Green was a very enjoyable experience, all there welcomed us with smiles,
and as we walked around the school and we were very impressed by the
wonderful atmosphere the school has. In fact in the children's letter
of thanks they remarked on the fact that if they moved away from our
village into Bridgwater, they would be more than happy to attend this
lovely school.
More to come on
this exciting project....... Have a look at our powerpoint
presentation.
